Psychoeducation training in Stress, Trauma, and Suicide Awareness for Law Enforcement

First Responder and Military agencies have a responsibility to prioritize the mental health and well-being of their members. Our Curriculum is a data driven analysis analysis with a proactive approach for trauma and suicide. We provide a trauma and suicide psychoeducation training that is group led with an interactive and scenario based approach. By providing all officers with the knowledge and self- advocacy skills needed to cope with traumatic incidents, agencies will provide their members self- care skills and reduce the likelihood of crisis.

Agencies should take a proactive approach to suicide by having a trained and knowledgable individual on the subject of suicidology provide education and resources for self care. Avoiding the topic of suicide will not address the problem, and will continue the increased likelihood of crisis, and the suicidal ideation.

Law Enforcement Psychological Suicide Autopsies

Following a death by suicide a common question asked by many is "WHY?" Suicide autopsies aide us in answering the "WHY" allowing a certified investigator to go back and gather information related to the risk factors present and protective factors that had diminished in a person's life. All of the information collected provides answers to the questions of why an individual made the decision to end their life. This information also gives us the ability to better understand suicidal behaviors and risk factors and implement a proactive approach for our first responders and military.
